Game Start Procedure

  1. Each Player reveals their Captain.

  2. Choose a player at random to bid 1 or 2 stress. Their opponent will guess and if correct will decide who takes that stress to gain the first travel.

  3. Each player then chooses any Crewmembers, possessions, and main deck cards from their card pool. For the Welcome Format this is predetermined.

  4. Each player shuffles their deck and presents it to their opponent who may shuffle and/or cut that deck.

  5. Each player reveals all possessions and Crewmembers they have chosen, adds cards to the Sanity Stack equal to their Captain’s Stress Limit, and then draws to their Captain’s Sanity.

  6. The traveling player then chooses the first setting all crews move to and begins the first travel of the game.

Game End Procedure

The game ends when either a player has reached and survived the last flooded setting of the game, has eliminated all other Captains, or has sunk all other warships at sea.

If at the time limit none of these win conditions have been met, each player will get 1 more travel. The player who is farthest along the setting path after the extra travels wins the game.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • As the Luwal Welcome Deck is designed to be an introduction, the card pool does not reach the deck requirement of constructed formats. However, if you were to open 3 packs of An Endless Rain, you would be guaranteed to have enough cards to play a Sea Dogs Format which requires a minimum of 40 main deck cards.

  • The Print & Play Luwal Welcome Deck is available for free here!

  • Blood and Salt TCG is currently planned to be released in mid 2025 following successful crowdfunding efforts. Follow our Kickstarter to support the project when it opens for funding in Q4 2024!
